Whole School Field Trip: FVRL
In partnership with the South Poplar PAC and the Fraser Valley Regional Library:
South Poplar’s 1st Field Trip of the Year!
Our whole school is going to ABBOTSFORD COMMUNITY LIBRARY on October 6th!
We are passionate about partnering with families to help stir up a love for reading in our students. Each of our Wildcats will have all kinds of opportunities to look at, read and borrow books from South Poplar throughout the year, but did you know that we also have 3 amazing community libraries right here in Abbotsford?!
Fraser Valley Regional Library (FVRL) is the largest public library system in BC, with 25 community libraries serving over 800,000 people in its service area. Not only do they have a HUGE catalogue of books to borrow, but they also offer opportunities to borrow musical instruments, scientific gadgets, puzzles, tech and so much more.
This year, we are excited to share that all of our classes will be visiting and learning more about one of our community libraries (how it works, what they lend, where it is, and a special behind the scenes tour). Every student has the opportunity to:
- Get their very own library card
- Browse and borrow 1 book from FVRL
